Jar files

If you have a custom alicecore.jar file that you want to add to Alice, you will need to replace the original one.

Step 1:

Make sure you have the latest version of Alice 3 installed.  Visit alice.org/3 to download and install Alice.

Step 2:

On a PC:

Depending on your version of Windows and whether you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit version, Alice may be installed in one of two places:

c:\Program Files\Alice3Beta

-or-

c:\Program Files (x86)\Alice3Beta

On a Mac:

Alice will most likely be installed in:

/Applications/Alice3Beta

Navigate to that directory.

Step 3:

Once in this directory, navigate to the lib folder.  You should see one or more subfolders with ascending numeric values, like 3.0.0.2.0, 3.0.0.2.1, etc.  Open the highest number and you should see alicecore.jar.  You may wish to rename this file in case you need to restore it later.

Step 4:

Copy the custom alicecore.jar into this location.
